Walk or cycle in the surroundings, through countryside and vineyards
Feel the peace and quiet. Walk or cycle for miles and follow the small roads, tracks and paths. Visit the old vine villages and churches, and stop at splendid points of view.
Go to Marcheseuil which is a Change's extension (on the opposite hill) and walk along the upper vineyards. You will have a splendid view, especially in the late afternoon and in the early evening.
Note most of around landscapes are State or Natura 2000 strictly protected, with a focus on vineyards. You have a lot of close tracks and roads for walking or cycling (it's sometimes stiff climb!).
Nolay*
This old small village has kept its ancien houses and medieval streets. Close to Change (5 mn away), Nolay (French) is located in the heart of the Cozanne Valley (as Change). It actually is a beautiful small town with its fourteenth century Central Market and wooden framed houses. The town of Nolay marks the transition between the forests and plains to the north and west and the hillside vineyards of the wealthy Burgundian wine regions surrounding Beaune and the Chalonnaise hills to the south.
Chateau de La Rochepot
This 12th century fortress-castle offers a trip through the history of the Middle Ages. Chateau de La Rochepot typical Burgundian roof reflects a somewhat romantic image of mediaevel times.
Saint-Romain*
Encircled by steep cliffs and a rocky peak,
Saint-Romain is one of the most ancient villages in the region. It’s rock arena lies at the end of a deep valley cutting through the "côte” at the west of Meursault. One reaches Saint Romain through a narrow passage. You will be impressed by the village’s spectacular site.
Don’t miss to wander about the streets of the lower village against the background of the cliffs, and around the church of the upper village perched on a rocky prolongation with it’s ruins of the ancient castle. Discover superb and various points of view over the vineyards.
Dezize
Typical wine village on the hillside and splendid view on wineyards. Dezize slopes are adjacent to Santenay.
Santenay
Santenay is a charming small town of about one thousand inhabitants, bordered by mountains and overlooking south; it lives according to the rhythm of vineyards and wines. As all promenade lovers, uou will be enchanted by the beauty of the hillsides and the superb views on the vineyards. Do not miss this step in mid-October when all nature is gold!

Saint Jean with its ancien 15th century church located at the foot of the cliff dominated by Mont de Sène.
This site dominates the valley lying ‘at the end of the world’ where Saint-Jean hamlet is located. It forms a hillock having a length of about 100 meters and a height of 521 meters.
From the top, the walker discovers a circular panorama: on the northern side – the boundary of Côte de Beaune hills with their fertile vineyards; on the eastern side – the Saône Valley dominated on the horizon by the first foothills of Jura; on the southern side – the Clunisois dominated by Saint-Vincent Mountain and by the Morvan on the western side.
