Get to know "Le Vigneron", a former winegrower house
As the name indicates, "le vigneron" is usually the man who works in the vineyards making his wine. It is also the name of a fine holiday cottage located in the Côte de Beaune wine district, in the heart of Burgundy, at the crossroads of Côte d'Or (21) and Saône-et-Loire (71), Burgundy . This former XVIII° century winegrower’s house has been recently and fully restored.
"Le Vigneron" holiday cottage**** is 22 km from Beaune (Where to find us?), and very close to the road called "Route des Grands Vins" which will take you through the most famous vineyards. It is very quiet and surrounded by superb countryside and vineyards landscapes. You may walk or cycle as you like through an abundance of paths and small roads, which have little or no car traffic. You may also choose to cycle on the "Voie verte" (Green Road) connects to 110 kilometers of cycling paths. It passes 200 m only from Le Vigneron and makes its way between vineyards and wild nature.
Burgundy also is dotted with Romanesque churches, abbeys of the great monastic orders of Benedictine and Cistercian and stunning cathedrals in the cities. The very close Beaune city is the home of the famous XV° century "Hospices de Beaune". With its brightly coloured tiled rooftop, it stands out as one of the perfect examples of the "Burgundy roofs" which, in fact, were originally influenced from Flanders which was part of the Burgundian "empire".
Tasting local wine is, of course, one of the main attractions in Burgundy too. What is good for visitors to Burgundy is that many of these "vignerons" encourage you to stop a while, taste and, of course, hopefully buy. But, more importantly to learn and to enhance your knowledge of the wonderful range and quality to enjoy.
Whatever your favorite activities, we really will be glad to accommodate you. You truly will spend happy and relaxing days in the peace and quiet of the verdant countryside and the vineyards.
